Hey Doll, I’m glad you dropped by because I’m excited to share that a brand new segment is about to debut on my website. I don’t know why I didn’t think of it sooner, but when the idea hit me, I got very excited. A little-known fact about me is that I’m completely in love with words. I am constantly looking up new words, and I love to integrate them into my vocabulary. Every Wednesday, I’ll share a new word with you, an anecdote, and probably some sass for good measure. Way back in one of my earliest posts, nearly a year ago, I mentioned the word sonder, and while this isn’t technically a word if you ask Merriam-Webster - I think it’s rather appropriate today.
Sonder — noun. The realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own.
You have to see yourself not only as the lead character but as the director of your life if you are going to script a new future for yourself and move on from your painful past. Too often, when we post something online, we are so attached to the outcome we are seeking we fail to realize that most people aren’t worried about what we’re doing - they are so caught up in the complexity of their own lives that they are unable to play a leading role in ours.
It is never too late to change the narrative and craft a better future for yourself.
